Cinnamon-Infused Baked Apples Delight

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized apples (use a variety like Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (or substitute with coconut oil for a vegan option)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans) (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Prepare the Apples: Wash the apples thoroughly and then core them. You can use an apple corer or a small knife to remove the cores, leaving the bottom intact so the filling stays inside the apples.

  3. Mix the Filling: In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar (or maple syrup), cinnamon, and nutmeg. If you're adding nuts, mix them into this mixture as well.

  4. Fill the Apples: Divide the filling mixture evenly and stuff it into the cored apples.

  5. Add Butter and Bake: Place the stuffed apples in a baking dish. Put a small piece of butter on the top of each stuffed apple or drizzle a little melted coconut oil over the apples. This will help to keep the apples moist and add flavor.

  6. Bake: Put the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender. The exact time may vary depending on the size and type of apples you're using.

  7. Serve: Once the apples are done, remove them from the oven. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving. You can serve them warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.

This easy dessert is not only quick to prepare but also incredibly delicious, especially with the warm, cinnamon-infused aroma that fills the kitchen. It's perfect for a cozy, comforting treat.

Enjoy your homemade cinnamon-baked apples!
